Demand Studios and Other Writer Training Programs -Are they Fair?

Is it Fair? Does it Matter?

Many writers are being placed into writer programs by various content companies. On the surface there appears to be no single universal reason for selection. Freelance writers are generally faithful to companies who treat them fairly even if the pay is lower.

Mistreatment of freelancers makes all consider the company in a different light. A quick search on the internet reveals an abundant of negative feelings from people who relied on one company or another for his or her main income but was suddenly let go.

Some writers have a chance at the writers program, others who report good scores and feedback say they were fired without an opportunity to take part in the training.

My question to you is this:

Is it fair that content companies let freelancers go without apparent just cause and in the long run does it really matter?

Don't Get Cut

This past week a new book came out on Amazon to help writers improve the overall score and obtain positive feedback from the companies they work for. The book is short so writers who need to get the test articles done and get back on tract do not have to read a 200 page grammar book before proceeding.

I have not purchased the book yet but at only $15 that is the same as many articles. I figure I will have more to lose by not trying it than I will by shelling out the cash for it.

Have you tried the instructions in the book? Did your 3.5 score increase to a 4.3 or above?

Hi! This is an important point. I did some writing for Demand Studios, but their site and their "editors" (in quotes because most of them were not credible as editor and definitely did not know enough to edit some subjects) had so many problems I finally gave up. They did pay, though. At that time it was $15 per piece.

Now, the pay is not very good. Their topics are really messed up. In short, it's been a mess for quite a while. I do not recommend Demand Studios.

The best thing you can do, if you want to be a web content writer (not the loftiest kind of freelance work) is to find your own clients.
